Year of the Tiger

Year of the Tiger is the 2022 entry in Davidoff's Chinese zodiac series, released in limited numbers in 100-gram tins. The Swiss-origin brand's pipe tobaccos are produced in Germany; that same year, the maker Kohlhase & Kopp also released a separate lychee-flavored tiger blend under its own name — the two should not be confused.

The Davidoff edition is built from latakia, burley and virginia leaves of Chinese, Indian, Malawian and Cypriot origin. The latakia share gives the blend a smoky, woody layer, burley a dry body and medium nicotine, while virginia carries a measured sweetness in the background. It suits smokers seeking a smoky structure with measured sweetness rather than a heavily topped aromatic.
