The Merry Monk

The Merry Monk is a mixture presenting the English blending approach in flake form. Red and light yellow Virginia leaves are pressed together with Cyprus latakia, St. James perique, white burley and black cavendish, then sliced. Because of its flake structure it burns slowly; how much the slices are rubbed out directly affects the smoking pace and intensity.

Virginia's tart-sweet base, perique's plum- and fig-evoking spice, and latakia's soot meld together; burley and cavendish thicken the smoke.
