Aperitif

Aperitif is a medium-bodied blend classified as Scottish style in the Dunhill line. It consists of unsweetened black cavendish, latakia, Turkish tobaccos and Virginia leaves. Cavendish keeps the smoke cool and soft while latakia adds a smoky, leathery depth, the orientals a dry spicy sharpness, and Virginia a meadow-and-citrus brightness.

The name points to a lightness suited to smoking before a meal. Despite its latakia content, the blend stays measured; this makes it well suited to smokers wanting to move toward English mixtures without seeking heavy smokiness. Dunhill pipe tobaccos have gone out of production; part of the line has continued under other brands.
