Ready Rubbed

Ready Rubbed is a blend where aged flue-cured Virginia leaves are combined with oriental tobaccos. A light cavendish process and a fine fruity sauce are applied to the leaves; after the mixture is steamed and pressed, it's cut and, true to its name, rubbed out into ribbon. This lets the smoker pack it directly with no extra preparation.

Though classed as aromatic, the sauce level is low; the tobacco's own taste leads in the smoke. Its strength is light and its flavor intensity is medium. It suits those who want the texture of pressed tobaccos without wanting to deal with crumbling flake. The blend was discontinued for a time, was one of the Dunhill blends reintroduced in 2015, and production under this name ended with the brand's exit from pipe tobacco.
