Standard Mixture Mellow

Standard Mixture Mellow is the lightest member of Dunhill's Standard Mixture family. It's a light-to-medium-bodied English mixture of latakia, oriental and Virginia tobaccos, ribbon cut. The word "mellow" in the name describes softness, not a lack of flavor: because the latakia share is kept low, the blend's core is built on a grassy, bright, lightly white-peppery Virginia character, with the orientals leaving a fine spice in the background.

With its toasted-bread-like tone and smooth finish, it forms a middle step for those accustomed to Virginia blends wanting to move toward English mixtures. Production under the Dunhill name has ended; the Standard Mixture name has since been continued by other makers.
