Virginia Ready Rubbed

Ready Rubbed is a Dunhill blend built by applying a light cavendish process over Virginia and oriental leaves. After the leaves take on a measured fruity cast, they're steam pressed; then rubbed out to produce a structure between ribbon and flake. The cavendish stage files down the harsh, hot edge of flame-cured Virginia while also darkening the leaf's color.

The resulting tobacco is moderately sweet, smokable throughout the day, and matures further when rested in the tin. It suits smokers seeking a pure Virginia character but wary of tongue bite, and those who'd rather not deal with preparing flake tobacco. The blend was among the old Dunhill recipes reintroduced to the US market in 2015; after Dunhill exited tobacco production, the same recipe has continued under the Peterson name.
