Ye Olde Signe

Ye Olde Signe is among Dunhill's earliest mixtures; production began in 1915, and period catalogs presented it as a soft, naturally high-sweetness pure Virginia leaf. It's an unadulterated, fine ribbon-cut straight Virginia blend. The aging process applied to the leaves leaves a tea-like scent in the tin and creates a non-artificial sweetness on the smoke.

It's a medium-strength, medium-burning tobacco producing plenty of smoke; despite its mild taste, its body is full, so it's mostly considered suited to after-meal smoking. It appeals to smokers seeking Virginia's own sugar front and center, without latakia or flavoring additives. After a long spell off the market it was reissued, then discontinued again.
