Black Aromatic

This blend, sold under the name Classic Black Aromatic, is the aromatic E. A. Carey developed in the 1970s and has kept at the center of its catalog for many years. Per the maker's page, the blend is prepared by resting two distinct toasted black cavendish leaves together in their own natural juices; this process gives the leaf a deep, nearly all-black color.

On the smoke side, cavendish sweetness is pronounced while nicotine is kept light. Due to the leaf's moist, dark structure, it burns slowly, requiring patient packing and occasional relighting. It suits smokers who don't want heavy nicotine but want a sweet, strongly scented everyday tobacco.
