4th Generation 1966 is a ribbon-cut blend combining aged Virginia leaves with Burley and black cavendish, topped with a touch of latakia. Caribbean rum is used as the topping, placing it somewhere between an aromatic and an English mixture. It is named for the birth year of Erik Stokkebye's younger brother and, like the rest of the series, is produced in Denmark.
Because the latakia proportion is kept low, the smoky character isn't dominant, remaining instead as a background element of depth. It suits smokers who enjoy sweetly topped blends but want a bit of a woody, smoky layer alongside, and who find pure aromatics too one-dimensional.
