Black Bayou Mist is a full-bodied, bulk-sold English blend from F & K, founded in St. Louis in 1926. Its composition includes matured Virginia leaves, Oriental leaves, Louisiana-sourced Perique, and dark fire-cured Kentucky, with a notable amount of Latakia added on top. The cut is ribbon.
Using Perique and Kentucky together gives the blend a peppery, earthy depth not seen in English blends relying on Latakia alone; nicotine load is on the high side for this reason too. The smoke is heavy, smoky, and spicy. It suits smokers accustomed to full-bodied English blends who want a dark tobacco for the end of the day.
