Lancer Slices

Lancer Slices is one of the blends previously sold under the name Charles Fairmorn, later gathered under the F & K brand. It is obtained by pressing and slicing Virginia leaves with Latakia and Oriental leaf; the rubbed-out form of the same blend is presented as broken flake under the name Lancer Ready Rubbed. Records indicate production takes place in Germany.

The Latakia proportion is kept more measured than in full-bodied English blends; the smoke taste doesn't mask Virginia's bread-like sweetness, and the smoke proceeds creamy and mild. Since pressing intensifies the leaf's taste, the flakes need to be rubbed out and aired for a while before lighting. It suits an English-blend smoker wanting to get used to flake cutting who doesn't want a heavy Latakia load.
