Vintage

Also known as Vintage Flake, this blend is produced by maturing untopped Virginia leaves under pressure and cutting them into thin flakes. The natural fermentation during pressing darkens the leaf's own sugars; the result brings out honeyed sweetness along with bread-crust and dried-fruit facets.

It is a slow-burning flake that can be filled sliced or rubbed out. Since it contains no additive, it is considered well-suited to long tin ageing; it draws the interest of those wanting to observe a plain Virginia structure and how it changes over time.
