Cumberland (Original Mixtures)

Cumberland is an untopped, ribbon-cut American blend that combines matured Virginia leaves with dark Kentucky and Perique. It belongs to G. L. Pease's Original Mixtures line and adds weight to the Virginia-Perique line with dark leaf.

The flavour is intense and layered; Virginia's ripe sweetness, Kentucky's smoky fullness, and Perique's peppery sharpness can each be picked out separately throughout the smoke. Nicotine dose is considered high, so it is not a blend suited to an empty stomach or a fast smoke. It is easy to prepare and burns easily. It suits experienced smokers accustomed to dark, strong, untopped blends.
