Lombard

Lombard is a member of the Fog City Selection line. A base of red and bright Virginias, sweetened with a small amount of perique, has a very small measure of Cyprus latakia added on top. Here, latakia is used not enough to turn the blend into a smoky structure, but only enough to add depth and a light smokiness.

As a result, the Virginia character is preserved while perique's spicy, fruity contribution and latakia's fine smoke stay in the background. This is a good, everyday-suitable record as a transition point for the Virginia smoker not yet accustomed to Latakia blends.
