Odyssey

Odyssey is one of the fullest Balkan blends in the G. L. Pease line. A generous measure of Cyprus latakia is balanced with rare Oriental leaves; the base contains matured red Virginias and stoved jet-black Virginias, which give the blend natural sweetness. It is ribbon cut.

The smoke is bold and intense but not coarse; latakia's spice works reciprocally with Virginia's sweetness, and the Oriental leaves carry the complexity in the background. Because the latakia proportion is high, it burns slowly and needs to be loaded loosely. It is a record aimed at smokers experienced with classic blends who want a dark, full smoke.
