Penny Farthing

Penny Farthing is a blend built by spicing bright and red Virginia leaves with Louisiana perique and a small amount of dark fire-cured Kentucky. It is the first shag cut offered in the brand's line; this fine cut, at about thirty-two cuts per inch, is easy to fill.

The smoke opens with a measured sweetness and gains depth as the bowl progresses. Red Virginias build an earthy, tartish base, light Virginias add a grassy brightness; perique adds its fermented spice, and Kentucky adds a fine oak-smoke layer. Clove, leather, and light floral notes are reported. It suits smokers seeking the Virginia-perique structure together with a smoky layer.
