Raven's Wing

Raven's Wing is a dark mixture using both Cyprus and Syrian latakia in high proportion. Latakia is pronounced but does not entirely mask the Oriental leaves and stoved dark Virginias; these two components add complexity and balance to the blend.

Due to the high latakia proportion, it burns slowly, and loading the pipe more loosely than usual is recommended. Following the destruction of the aged Syrian latakia stock used in the blend in the November 2004 warehouse fire, production was halted. It is a record now found only in old tins, sought by those wanting a dark, smoky, full smoke.
