Condor Bar

Condor is one of the classic pipe tobaccos produced by the company Thomas Gallaher founded, sold off British market shelves. The form called Bar is the pressed, plug-form version of the blend; the smoker fills by cutting a slice from the plug or rubbing it out. The line's body rests on dark fire-cured Virginia leaf, joined by Burley and a small amount of flavoured black Cavendish.

What defines the blend is the Lakeland-style essence applied over it; described as floral and soapy, this topping is accompanied by a sweet, liqueur-like note. The plug form gives a cooler, slower burn. Since the essence tends to settle into the pipe, it is recommended to try it in a dedicated pipe or a corn-cob pipe. Condor Bar is no longer in production today; the line's long-cut and ready-rubbed versions remain on the market.
