Balkan Flake

Balkan Flake is a jet-black flake blend Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. produces by pressing and cooking Virginia together with Cyprus latakia; no other oriental leaf is used. The cooking process calms Virginia's sharp, tongue-biting side, while some of the leaf's natural sweetness is retained.

In the smoke, a smoky, earthy texture leads, with woody, spicy, and leather-like notes sensed beneath it. This is a record for those who love the latakia-heavy, untopped English-Balkan line and are accustomed to working with flake tobaccos.
