Best Brown #2

Best Brown Flake #2 is a medium-bodied flake Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. prepares by pressing and slicing Virginia and burley leaves. Because the leaves are pressed, the flakes come out dense and mottled brown; they need to be rubbed out or cube cut before smoking.

The blend does not carry a heavy top dressing, but does contain a measured amount of the essences typical of the Kendal tradition, making it a milder take on classic Lakeland flakes. Toasted, grassy, woody Virginia flavours lead early in the smoke, with the natural tobacco taste becoming more pronounced as it progresses. It is aimed at smokers wanting to get to know pressed English Virginia flakes.
