Bosun Plug

This is the whole-plug form of the Bosun family; the same blend takes the name Bosun Cut Plug once sliced and bagged. A measured, Kendal-tradition clove-like bowl note is applied over the Virginia and burley body, giving a sweet aroma reminiscent of raisins and a spicy taste. Because it is held under cold press, the leaf comes as a tightly compressed block.

Once the plug is sliced, it is filled by rubbing out or cube-cutting; stored as a block, it lends itself to ageing. Within the spicy line of Kendal-style plug tobaccos, it sits in a more balanced spot than heavier versions like Rum Flake.
