Brown Flake Aromatic

Brown Flake Aromatic is a flake blend prepared by combining hot-pressed, stoved Virginia leaves with Burley. Traditional English sauces based on liquorice root, fig, and tonka bean are applied; this topping combination is one of the typical examples of the Lakeland style unique to Kendal production. The flakes are dark brown, oily, and tightly pressed.

In the smoke, the dark, bread-like sweetness of the stoved Virginia joins with Burley's earthy base; the topping sits above it as a floral layer reminiscent of rose and Turkish delight. It burns slowly, carries a medium nicotine load, and the flakes need to be rubbed out and aired.
