Brown Irish Twist is a thicker-gauge twisted version of Brown Bogie. Dark fire-cured and air-cured leaves are wound like rope, left to rest under their own weight for a long time, and sliced for smoking. According to sources it has a floral, sweet leaf character; the taste is reminiscent of cigar leaf.
Once lit, the smoke begins medium-bodied and grows noticeably heavier as the bowl progresses, sharpening on the tongue in the final quarter. Nicotine is high. Thick slices burn slow, thin ones burn fast, so slice thickness directly shapes the character of the smoke. It is aimed at smokers experienced with rope tobaccos.
