Brown Pigtail Rum

This is the rum-topped version of the old-fashioned twisted-rope tradition. Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. produces its rope by twisting fire-cured leaves; in Brown Pigtail Rum the dominant figure is Virginia leaf, while the rum builds a sweet layer in the background. The topping level is measured and does not mask the leaf's own character.

The rope is sliced coin-thin and rubbed out for filling. Given the high moisture, airing it for a while first is common practice. In terms of nicotine it is above medium; it is aimed at those wanting to try a classic English rope tobacco with a light sugared top note.
