Brown Twist Sweet Maple

This is the maple-topped version of the Kendal-style brown twist. Dark fire-cured and air-cured leaves are twisted into rope; the topping is applied while the rope is being made. According to sources the topping is medium in strength; it does not leave a sticky sweetness but the maple source is identifiably present.

As with all members of this family, nicotine is high; while the topping adds sweetness, it doesn't lighten the body. The rope is sliced coin-thin and rubbed out for filling; smoked slowly, the taste stays in balance. It suits a smoker who knows the weight of rope tobacco and wants a measured sweet topping on top of it.
