Curly Cut

Curly Cut is produced by twisting Virginia leaves into rope form, then rolling and pressing them, and cutting them into round coins. Light-coloured Virginia is used as the outer wrapper leaf; this both creates a noticeable colour contrast in the coins and softens the smoke. The coins are prepared either rubbed out or folded to fit the bowl.

This is an untopped blend, carrying only a very fine Lakeland trace from the production line. In the smoke, Virginia's malty sweetness, reminiscent of bread dough and dry grass, leads. The tightly pressed structure gives a slow, cool burn, with a medium nicotine load. This is a good record for those wanting to get to know rope- and coin-cut tobaccos, staying close to an untopped Virginia taste.
