Dark Kentucky

This is one of the darkest ends of the shag-cut tradition Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. continues in Kendal. The blend rests on fire-cured Kentucky leaf; records indicate the brand also uses this leaf on its own in products such as Kendal Kentucky. It is unflavored, with the taste coming entirely from the smoky, woody, earthy character left by fire-curing.

The fine shag cut eases packing, but since the burn can be fast, it needs to be smoked slowly. Nicotine sits at the upper limit. Aimed at smokers accustomed to working with dark, strong, unflavored tobaccos.
