Ennerdale Plug

Ennerdale Plug is the pressed plug form of Ennerdale, Gawith Hoggarth's best-known Lakeland blend. Malawi Burley is added to African- and South American-origin Virginia leaf; the share of air-cured dark leaf cools the smoke and leaves a woody, creamy texture. The plug comes as a block, and smokers slice and rub it out for packing.

The blend's defining trait is the intense floral flavoring known as Lakeland essence; rum, vanilla, citrus, and almond notes layer on top of it. The aroma is so dominant that it easily clings to jar and pipe, so smoking it in a dedicated pipe is common practice. Suited to smokers curious about the classic English Lakeland style who don't shy away from heavily topped tobaccos.
