Scotch Flake is an all-Virginia flake weighted toward Brazilian and Zimbabwean flue-cured Virginias, with a small amount of sun-cured leaf added for body and sweetness. It carries a light cocoa sauce and is sliced after pressing; this pressing gives it a darker appearance than the same house's Broken Scotch Cake product.
Bread, dry hay, and ripe-fruit tones lead the flavor palette with a lightly spiced finish; the cocoa essence doesn't override the leaf. Nicotine is moderate. Suited to smokers seeking a near-unflavored, pressed Virginia.
