Scotch Mixture

Scotch Mixture is one of the Kendal-based Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. house's mixtures using Latakia in measured amounts. According to producer information, the blend's body is built from Brazilian, Zimbabwean, and Malawian Virginia leaf, joined by Malawi Burley, sun-cured leaf, cooling dark fire-cured black Cavendish, and roughly an eighth-part Latakia. The result is that Latakia doesn't emerge as a dominant top note but as a smoke-and-spice layer sitting in the background.

A medium-bodied, cool-burning ribbon-cut blend holding Virginia sweetness and light spice together. Since it carries a faint trace of Kendal tradition, it departs slightly from a fully classic English mixture. Suited to smokers wanting Latakia not at a high dose but at a level smokeable any time of day; suited to those new to English mixtures or seeking a balanced smoky blend fit for all-day smoking.
