Sliced Brown Bogie is the sliced form of the producer's brown Burma, also known as 'Happy Bogie'. Fire-cured leaf is used for the wrapper; the inner filler is mostly fire-cured leaf with some air-cured dark Indian leaf.
The flavor core carries earth, wood, dark dried fruit, barbecue-like smoke, spice, leather, and tart citrus notes. Nicotine is high and the tobacco arrives moist; sliced thin and smoked slowly it stays balanced, but left thick it goes out frequently. An entry aimed at experienced smokers seeking an unflavored, heavy, and smoky Burma. Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. is one of the English producers that continues traditional twist (rope) production at its Kendal factory, hand-twisting fire-cured leaves into rope form. Because twist tobaccos don't go through a pressure-cooking stage, they stay intense in nicotine; records indicate these ropes are sold for both chewing and pipe smoking.
