Sweet Coffee Pigtail

Sweet Coffee Pigtail is the coffee-topped version of 'pigtail'-type Burma tobacco, made by twisting fire-cured leaves into a very fine rope. Because the rope's diameter is small, cutting it produces small, coin-sized slices; the cut surface shows a dark reddish-brown color.

The pouch aroma is oily and spicy, topped with a roasted-coffee association. On the smoke, the earthy, smoky core combines with coffee's sweetness. These fine ropes are traditionally sold for both chewing and pipe smoking; they run intense in nicotine and call for slow smoking. Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. is one of the English producers that continues traditional twist (rope) production at its Kendal factory, hand-twisting fire-cured leaves into rope form. Because twist tobaccos don't go through a pressure-cooking stage, they stay intense in nicotine; records indicate these ropes are sold for both chewing and pipe smoking.
