Night Owl

Night Owl is one of the aromatic house blends from Georgetown Tobacco, which has operated in Washington since 1964. Its base contains moist, black, fire-cured Cavendish, joined by light-colored Virginia. Virginia serves a dual purpose: it reduces the moisture that collects at the bottom of the bowl and softens the black Cavendish's weight. The black and golden-yellow leaves sitting side by side also give the blend a visually distinct contrast.

Vanilla sets the blend's flavor line — this topping, sitting atop Cavendish's sugary, dark base, leads in both smoke and aroma. Nicotine is low, the smoke is mild, and the ribbon cut makes it easy to pack. A product aimed less at unflavored English blends and more at those wanting a sweet, fragrant everyday smoke, and at those new to the pipe.
