Nottingham Lace : Noir

Noir, the dark member of the Nottingham Lace series, is built on English-style black Cavendish. This base is joined by golden-hued Virginia leaf, Izmir-origin Turkish tobacco, and Perique. The Virginia side gives a herbal, lightly citrusy base; the black Cavendish supplies sweetness without resorting to a vanilla-like topping; the Izmir draws a smoky, woody line; and the Perique sharpens the blend's edges with raisin, plum, and pepper notes.

The result is a smoke that flows smoothly but isn't flat — all four components remain individually distinguishable. Suited to smokers who steer away from the heavy sweetness of topped aromatics and seek natural Cavendish sweetness, as well as those curious about the balance between Oriental and Perique. Since it stays at a moderate level for nicotine, it has an intensity suited to smoking at different times of day.
