Double Down

Double Down is the Grand Croupier series' near-unflavored Virginia-Burley blend. It contains both light and dark Burley leaf together, joined by a wide range of Virginias. Any casing applied to the leaves is very light and doesn't mask the tobacco's own taste. Since the series rests on the idea of combining leftover quality leaf from a producer's various batches, the composition can show small differences from batch to batch.

On the smoke, Burley's nutty, earthy dryness bordering on a mustiness leads; the Virginia side adds a measured sweetness to that dryness. Some batches have also reported a Perique-like spice trace. Nicotine is not light, suiting Burley smokers who want heft; the flavor profile, however, is plain and everyday rather than showy.
