Retribution

Retribution is a dark English blend in the pipe tobacco line of Gurkha, a brand known for cigars. Its composition includes Turkish-origin Oriental leaf and a high proportion of Latakia; Virginia is used just enough to balance these two components. The ribbon cut ensures an even, cool burn in the pipe.

The blend's character is set by Latakia's smoky, resinous tone; the Oriental leaf adds a spicy, lightly tart layer on top of that base, while Virginia leaves a measured sweetness in the background. Its unflavored makeup and heavy smoke make it suited to smokers accustomed to dark English blends; it is not considered a starting blend for someone coming from aromatics.
