AJ's VaPer

AJ's VaPer is a Virginia-Perique mixture prepared by Hearth & Home blender Russ Ouellette together with Andrew "AJ" Smith. Different red Virginia leaves form the body; a generously proportioned amount of Perique is added on top. The blend's third component is unflavored black Cavendish sourced from Green River, used to soften the bite and increase sweetness.

Since no top note is applied, the sweetness in the blend comes from the leaf itself. Perique's contribution of dried plum and black pepper is pronounced, while Virginia carries the bready, sugary side. Suited to smokers wanting to get to know the unflavored VaPer character at a high Perique dose — those looking for a non-aromatic blend with high flavor intensity that doesn't go to a nicotine extreme.
