Anniversary Flake

Anniversary Flake is the Hearth & Home series' pressed Virginia-Perique blend. Its composition includes Virginia leaves of varying color and maturity along with top-grade Perique. A small amount of rum is added before the tobacco is pressed; during pressing, the leaves meld together and the flavors mature. The resulting slab is suited to being rubbed out by hand or packed folded.

On the smoke, the Virginias' bready, fruity sweetness leads; Perique adds a depth of dried plum, fig, and pepper to that sweetness. The rum addition isn't dominant enough to place the blend in the aromatic category — it functions more as a top note tying the leaf flavors together. Suited to smokers who love the pressed VaPer style and want a slow, even smoke.
