Armada

Armada is one of the Latakia-containing mixtures in the Hearth & Home series, and records indicate it was discontinued as the brand's lineup was narrowed. In character, Latakia gives a creamy, smoky opening at first, followed by dark-fruit sweetness from the Virginia.

The Latakia presence is more measured than in the brand's heavier English mixtures, while the fruity layer persists throughout the bowl. No top note is used. Body is medium. Suited to smokers who want Latakia as a balancing rather than dominant component; this blend is said to be found today only in old tins.
