Black House 10th Anniversary

BlackHouse is one of Hearth & Home's Latakia-forward classics: it contains plentiful Cyprian Latakia, bright and fragrant Orientals, sweet Virginias, and a pinch of fire-cured Kentucky. To imitate the effect of long aging, the blend also includes a small amount of Perique and unflavored black Cavendish.

The 10th Anniversary edition is a limited release prepared for the blend's tenth year. Records indicate that when a small quantity of well-aged Oriental leaf remained on hand, the Orientals in the original recipe were replaced with this old stock; since the leaf quantity was limited, production stayed limited as well. Here Latakia doesn't stand out on its own but mainly frames the Orientals' complex flavor with camphor and peat-like tones. Designed for smokers who enjoy the Balkan style and are accustomed to smoky, spicy mixtures.
