Fusilier's Ration

Fusilier's Ration is an English blend built from plentiful Cyprian Latakia and pronounced Oriental varieties, topped with bright yellow Virginia. Unflavored black Cavendish is used for body; there is also a light old-style seasoning kept in the background, applied sparingly enough not to mask the tobacco's own taste. The tobacco is offered as a pressed crumble cake meant to be broken up by hand, so it needs crumbling before packing.

The blend is a work blender Russ Ouellette prepared as a tribute to the now-discontinued Bengal Slices. The smoke is bright and smoky with a short finish. Suited to smokers familiar with Latakia-forward blends who are willing to prepare cake tobacco; the room note is strong and noticeable indoors.
