Louisiana Red

Louisiana Red is a Virginia-Perique blend where two separate red Virginia leaves are combined with a generous amount of Acadian Perique. It is a medium-brown ribbon cut, and the tin releases a sweet aroma reminiscent of dried fruit. The Virginias give a round, dark sweetness with a light tart-fruit tone, while Perique adds plum and black-pepper seasoning.

The smoke is cool and full; the balance between sweetness and spice is the blend's defining trait. Being unflavored, it is aimed not at aromatic seekers but at smokers looking for the classic style of the Virginia-Perique family. It is counted among the brand's fully original, non-imitation blends.
