Rolando's Own

Rolando's Own is a Virginia-Perique blend enlivened with a moderate dose of Perique, in which lemon-yellow, red, and stoved Virginia leaves are used together. The combination of three separate Virginias gives the blend both bright tartness and a dark, caramel-like depth; Perique adds plum and pepper seasoning to this base.

It takes its name from, and was prepared for, the Romanian-born pipe maker Rolando Negoita. Being an unflavored, sweet, and high-flavor-intensity mixture, it's an option that smokers familiar with the Virginia-Perique family can smoke all day.
