WhiteKnight

WhiteKnight is a Balkan blend built on bright Virginia, select Oriental varieties — particularly Yenidje — and smoky Latakia. It's a 2012 work by blender Russ Ouellette, prepared as a tribute to the late-1970s Balkan Sobranie Original Smoking Mixture, and built along the same axis of leaf types used in that blend.

Its aroma is reminiscent of incense; on the taste side there's a sharp, clear edge and a short, clean finish not seen in most Latakia blends. It's aimed at smokers familiar with the classic Balkan style or tracing its lineage. It's part of the brand's Marquee line; records indicate a separate edition was also released for the tenth anniversary.
