Captain Earle's - Mystic Blend

Mystic Blend is one of the English-character members of the Captain Earle's line, prepared by Cornell & Diehl for Hermit Tobacco Works. Records indicate it brings together nine separate tobacco types: Latakia, various Virginias, Oriental leaves, Perique, and black Cavendish are pressed into a crumble cake. Thanks to this structure, the tobacco is rubbed out by hand before filling, and the cut takes on an appearance between broken flake and ribbon. Latakia is pronounced, but the red Virginia's sugary tone is felt steadily beneath the smoke; Perique traces a spicy edge.

The line's name comes from James A. M. Earle, captain of the 1841 whaling ship Charles W. Morgan; the blend's name also references Mystic, Connecticut, where the captain was born. Offering moderate nicotine and an intense taste, it suits smokers familiar with Latakia blends and those looking for depth in English mixtures. It carries no flavoring; the taste comes entirely from the leaf composition.
