Dutch Honey

Dutch Honey is one of the house blends prepared at its own facility by Hiland's Cigars, which has operated in Arizona since 1963. Honey flavoring is applied to a mix of Burley and Virginia leaves; Burley provides body and a nutty base taste, while Virginia's natural sugar accompanies the honey.

The flavoring is kept measured enough not to mask the leaf's own taste, resulting in a medium-level aromatic profile. It's a structure suited to those not looking for a heavy-nicotine aromatic that can be smoked all day, and to those wanting to move from aromatic toward natural tobacco taste. It's recorded as having been one of the components of the same maker's now-discontinued Mixture D blend.
