Black & Bourbon

Black & Bourbon is one of the Cavendish-based aromatics in the Holger Danske line. Double-fermented black Cavendish is combined with toasted American Burley leaf; the top flavoring is dissolved in bourbon whiskey and applied to the tobacco. This method aims to distribute the flavoring into the leaf rather than leaving a syrupy layer on the surface. As a result, toasted sugar, oak, and a lightly nutty base appear in the smoke. Records indicate the product was later also sold under the name B.B.

The Holger Danske line is produced by Mac Baren following Denmark's aromatic pipe tobacco tradition. Nicotine is moderate and the burn cool; because of this it's suitable for those new to aromatics and smokers looking for a whiskey-Cavendish pairing.
