Double Fermented

Double Fermented is an aromatic blend under the Holger Danske name that takes its name from its composition. Its weight is made up of twice-fermented black Cavendish; a small amount of loose-cut Burley is added for balance. Light vanilla, fruit, and rum flavoring are applied on top, and the tobacco is presented ribbon cut. Because the second fermentation lowers the leaf's harshness, the smoke stays cool and mild.

The moist, tacky black Cavendish prepared in the Danish-American style gives the blend a sweet body leaving an oak-like aftertaste. Being light in nicotine makes it suitable for newcomers who enjoy aromatics and those not wanting a heavy tobacco during the day. Records indicate the brand was previously blended in Germany by Planta; today it's produced in Denmark by Mac Baren.
