Royal Navy Flake

Royal Navy Flake is produced by maturing flue-cured Virginia leaves and forming them into flakes through hot pressing. A very light aromatic touch from fruit peel is added to the blend; this flavoring accompanies the Virginia's natural sugar rather than masking it. The slices are rubbed out before filling, the burn is cool, and the taste is described with notes of dry hay, lemongrass, and light plum.

The Holger Danske line is produced by Mac Baren following Denmark's pipe tobacco tradition. It suits smokers who enjoy the plain sweetness of straight Virginia blends but are looking for a slightly milder profile than a fully unflavored flake. Because of its flake structure, it requires some familiarity with filling and lighting technique.
