Janneman Flake is an unflavored flake HU Tobacco dedicated to the Dutch pipe forum PRF. Its base is fire-cured, spicy Virginia leaf; a measured amount of Perique is added, and the mixture is fermented and pressed under high pressure.
The taste emerges from the combination of Virginia sweetness in the direction of wildflower honey, fruit, and citrus, with woody-earthy notes; Perique brings a fig-and-raisin-evoking tartness and spice. Cut as a whole flake, it gives a medium-strength, full smoke. It's aimed at those wanting to experience the Virginia-Perique tradition without added flavoring.
